When we started looking at adding on to our house I searched for a long time trying to find some idea of pricing and actual costs. I never found anything! So I will list every price for this build. Our house is currently 780 square feet. We are going to add 1000 square feet to that, with a master bedroom, bath and kitchen plus a 6 foot by 60 foot porch that is not included in the 1000 square feet. We are going to contract all of this out ourselves and try to do as much as possible. |

This is our house at the beginning. The front porch has been torn off and there is 3 loads of dirt in the spot where the slab will go. We were going to go with a monolithic slab but the concrete people talked us into a chain wall, because of the height. The first 3 loads of dirt cost 115.00 per load. We live right down the street from a dirt pit. We had about 4 months between the first 3 and the next 4 loads of dirt(banks), so of course the price went up. The last 4 loads cost 140.00 per yard  |
